"As I explore painting and the vast landscapes of the Rocky Mountain West, my goal is to capture the essence of this amazing region and convey it to others. Utilizing shapes as a basis for powerful compositions then layering tone, color, line, edges and texture into the piece, I’m able to capture light, atmosphere and a sense of place in my paintings."

 

 

Blair Hamill has spent years exploring the Rocky Mountain West, worked building hiking trails, backpacking, fly fishing and back-country skiing through its mountains. He has used those experiences to learn about, study and sketch the land. Blair studied at Art Center College of Design and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Colorado State University.
